extra large hand-bound journals: green, lavender-brown, orange & terracotta
This is the book that I use EVERY DAY. It holds my lists, sketches, and taped little bits of thread and fabric for color exploration. I love this book because it is BIG (9.5" x 12.5" and 116 pages) and it stands up well to my daily abuse. Each book is covered in organic cotton/hemp that is plant-dyed in small batches. I have placed heavily stitched raw edge patches with tone-on-tone stitching to cover small imperfections in the fabric.
GREEN: dyed with indigo & weld
This book is meant to be used. When we have beautiful things made by hand, we are more likely to use them in a meaningful way. I begin by hand-tearing soft white, unlined, acid-free, 80# text paper that is ideal for drawing and writing with pen or pencil. The exposed spine stitching allows the book to lay flat when it is open, and because this book is so large I reinforced the hinge area of the spine. Each book is covered with organic cotton/hemp fabric that is plant-dyed in small batches.
