Each scissor slip is machine-stitched out of plant-dyed wool felt and features a botanical design hand stitched with silk/mohair yarn from The Lamb & Kid. I dyed the wool felt in my home dye studio with plants and flowers from my dye garden along with additions to the dye pot from Botanical Colors. Slips measure 2.5” across at the top and are 4.5” long. A pair of lovely 3.75” long snips to treasure is included. This is a special gift for anyone who works with thread. They pair beautifully with a plant-dyed wool felt tape measure.

The wool felt that I used for these slips is a beautiful expression of the magic of plants. within the color families of yellow/greens, purple/blues, and peach/pinks are a whole spectrum of subtle distinction. The smallest addition to the dye pot can make a hint of variation or a huge change. I love to pull fabric out at every stage to see the nuanced differences.
