Each plant-dyed wool tape measure features a botanical design hand stitched with silk/mohair yarn from The Lamb & Kid. The back side is decorated with a small coordinating design that indicates the location of the retract button. I dyed the felt in my home dye studio with plants and flowers from my dye garden along with additions to the dye pot from Botanical Colors. Tape measures are about a 3” circle. This is a special gift for anyone who loves to make things by hand. They pair beautifully with a plant-dyed wool felt scissor slip.

The wool felt that I used for these tape measures is a beautiful expression of the magic of plants. Within the color families of yellow/browns, purple/blues, and peach/pinks are a whole spectrum of subtle distinction. The smallest addition to the dye pot can make a hint of variation or a huge change. I love to pull fabric out at every stage to see the nuanced differences.
