mother’s day can encompass so much: love, loss, joy, grief... i choose to look at this “holiday” as an opportunity to celebrate the women in my life who inspire me, support me, and who keep me grounded. 

as i work in my dye studio, coaxing a magnificent rainbow of colors from roots and leaves and flowers, i am in awe of our mother earth. plant magic transforms silk, linen, cotton and wool into every color i can dream of.  i used this colorful bounty to make plant-dyed wool felt flower pins for the women in my life for mother’s day. i also made a new collection for my shop.

through may 1*, i will donate $10 from each flower pin to women for women international: a charity focused on empowering women survivors of war and conflict.

these wool felt flower pins are the perfect way to use up my plant-dyed wool felt remnants. the scraps feel extra precious as i grew the flowers in my dye garden and dyed the felt in my home dye studio. flower pins are a sweet embellishment for a plant-dyed pocket purse, a tote bag, or a coat.

my jewelry collection features organic, nature inspired shapes cast by hand out of recycled bronze. necklaces and bracelets hang from crocheted cord and earrings dangle from sterling silver ear wire. these pieces are strong, decorative, and durable– jewelry that is meant to be worn every day. the form, variation, feel, and energy of each piece is intentionally raw and imperfect. all jewelry pieces are packaged for gifting - a thoughtful present for any woman in your life (or yourself!).

the new rainbow of plant-dyed wool felt has also made its way into my plant-dyed wool felt bundles. each bundle contains [8] assorted  4” squares of plant dyed wool felt. this wool felt lends itself to small, patchwork projects or meaningful decorations like ornaments, amulets, pins, and hair clips. you can look at my collection of free sewing tutorials for inspiration.
