since birth i have always had a cat or two or five, except for short breaks to mourn the loss of one. it is no secret that i am obsessed with my current cat, myra. if i am sitting and stitching, she is in my lap. if i am trying to ship orders, she is tucked inside one of the boxes. if i am stacking fabric, she is on top of the stack. she knocks over boxes of embroidery floss, scatters balls of silk/mohair yarn, and generally disrupts everything in the studio. she squeezes her giant body into the tiniest baskets and drawers and is obsessed with food. i cannot imagine my life without her.

cats have been working their way into my stitching lately, so i made a
small collection of all things feline. find cat tape measures, a new photo album,  tiny cat friends, angel kitties (made and a DIY kit), pocket pals (made and DIY kit), and a little felt journal.

myra is NOT an angel, but she is still perfect to me. stitch your own trio of angel kitties out of plant-dyed wool felt with the new DIY angel kitty decoration kit. the kitty face is lightly stuffed with buckwheat hulls and the decorated wings are free to flutter. angel kitties measure about 3” wide (including wings) and 1.25” tall. each one hangs from a strand of off-white silk ribbon made from a vintage sari.

my angel kitty: literally always in the way.

in memoriam: my dear friend, polly, recently lost her beloved cat, oleo. he lived a magical 16 years by her side... a constant presence in her heart and home and garden. he is sorely missed.
