shop (very) small saturday: tiny house ornaments November 29 2025

today is the day to support small, independent shops and makers.
i made a collection of tiny house ornaments in honor of shop small saturday. they make me think of the sweet neighborhood stores that would love our patronage this holiday season. they also remind me of the little houses that hold artist studios and cottage businesses... all of the creative people that pour their hearts into their craft and leave a small footprint. we all appreciate your business more than you know.

*the last day for holiday orders is saturday, december 13*
please order early! many things will sell out.

these tiny houses are so comforting to me. once i started making them with the colorful scraps of my plant-dyed wool felt, i couldn’t stop. they are hand stitched with silk/mohair yarn and are plumply stuffed with buckwheat hulls. each house hangs from a long strand of crocheted silk/mohair. they look sweet hanging alone or strung together as a little neighborhood. houses come on a card tucked inside a plant-dyed muslin bag dyed with marigolds from my garden and embellished with red silk ribbon.

would you like to stitch your own tiny colorful village? the three tiny houses DIY ornament kit has the instructions, tools, and enough materials to make at three houses. you can also find a free sewing tutorial on my website.

*$10 from the sale of each house ornament and each DIY kit will be donated to habitat for humanity through december 13.*
